Nanoventive will initially be a Tier 2 and eventually a Tier 1 member and partner, of the National Graphene Institute’s, Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC).
The GEIC is Manchester University’s other world-class, multi-million pound centre dedicated to the advancement of graphene developments and will generate industry-led development in graphene applications in partnership with academics. Opened in December 2018, the £60m Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC) is an international research and technology facility.
Together, the NGI and GEIC provides an unrivalled, critical mass of graphene expertise, ready to support Nanoventive in its mission to create world class, state of the art, sporting products. These two facilities reinforce Manchester's position as the leading knowledge-base, in graphene research and commercialisation.
With the addition of the GEIC, the Graphene Institute can now assist Nanoventive in our desire to take ideas from imagination and design through to prototype and ultimately produce market ready, fully-tested products, containing graphene elements.
The Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre (GEIC) specialises in the development and scale-up of graphene and other 2D materials for industrial purposes.
The GEIC is the home of industry-led innovation with graphene and 2D materials. Work at the GEIC is focused around creating, testing and optimising new concepts for delivering products to market as well as the processes needed to scale up production and build and maintain a supply chain.
Working with the National Graphene Institute, the GEIC compliments their research with work in six key areas of focus:
